The end is near...

Sat Nov 21, 2009, 8:22 AM
Well everyone, I've been concentrating on this for a long time now, and as many people have discovered time and time again, it is a hard decision when it comes to knowing when you want to stop - and sadly, I feel that I can no longer continue with Thomas the Model Series.

I started making the series in 2006, just to keep myself from being bored, and that year was probably the finest for the series - afterwards fewer and fewer episodes have been made. I produced 8 episodes and 1 special in 2006, but in 2009 I've only done 3 episodes. I think it's safe to say that I've lost the interest and the enthusiasm that I had almost four years ago.

I've tried taking on different challenges with the series to make it more fun to make, and recently I've had an overload of ideas that could be incorporated into the scripts, but as I stated in my outrage video a while back, I've found that I'm being too rushed to make the material as good as it could've been. In addition, I have a brother to look after, exams to prepare for, and all of the decisions that lie ahead regarding the future - juggling all of that and TTMS simply cannot be done.

I also have fear that if I continue with the series, the ideas will run out and the series will come to an end after it's been ruined - I've seen it happen with other series on YouTube, plus television series still showing. I would prefer to end TTMS on a positive note - especially since the script I've written for episode 21 includes some great material (IMO at least).

I still want to continue with City Trams though - the ideas and characters are still fresh, and it's closer related to the animation career I have chosen to follow. I'm still considering whether or not to continue voicing for other projects - we'll have to wait and see.

Any YouTube users who are about to moan about the decision will be ignored - this decision is final. I simply don't want to make the series anymore. If they were to campaign for the series to continue with new episodes, they won't come back and support them when they've been released. I'm not going to carry on for the benefit of underage internet addicts.

One important decision I am yet to make is whether to still host the series online or not. I probably would prefer to take them down, but I may still host them online if enough people feel I should. I'd appreciate feedback on this, but be honest - are you really going to carry on watching them if I keep them up?

So in short, I feel I would like to move on from TTMS and concentrate on exams. The series will end with episode 21 in 2010 (I'm purposely taking forever with this one so the series ends on a positive note, and it will be released when it's ready).

The end has been a fact for a year now, but I'm finally ready to end the series. It pains me to announce this after the fun I've had with TTMS when it was fresh, but there's just no originality in the idea of doing it anymore.
